Producer shortcuts & pro tips

• Instant Reese mode:

On many bass patches, bring the “Movement” macro down to 0 to flatten modulation and turn the sound into a more static Reese-style bass you can shape with automation and FX.

• Quick idea → full loop:

• Pick a bass preset you like.

• Add one pad and one atmosphere.

• Automate 1–2 macros (including Rate) and the mod wheel.

That’s often enough to sketch a full 16–32 bar section for arrangement.

• Great for template slots:

Save your favorite 10–20 presets into your DAW templates so you always start with a bank of reliable minimal sounds.

Requirements

• Serum 2 (by Xfer Records)

• Works on macOS and Windows in any DAW that supports Serum.

Installation

Using the .serumpack (recommended!!!!!!!)

 

1. Open Serum / Serum 2.

2. Click Menu (top right).

3. Choose “Import Preset Pack…”.

4. Select the included .serumpack file.

 

All presets will be added to your Serum library automatically.

Installing the custom skin

 

1. In Serum, go to Menu → Show Serum Presets Folder.

2. Open the Skins folder.

3. Copy the included skin folder into this directory.

4. Restart Serum if it’s open.

5. Click the Serum logo (top left) and select the new skin from the Skins menu.
